Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Core

A cross-campus platform for the design, synthesis and testing of targeted nucleic acid modulators to advance the next generation of nucleic acid–based therapies.

About Us

The Nucleic Acid Therapeutics (NATx) Core accelerates the development of targeted therapies by providing custom oligonucleotide synthesis, expert consultation, and a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration. We work with researchers across the University of Michigan to drive discoveries from bench to bedside, with a focus on areas of unmet medical need.

As a shared scientific resource, the Core enables the design, synthesis, and early testing of custom oligonucleotides—short strands of nucleic acids used to modulate gene expression or repair genetic mutations. Through specialized equipment, technical expertise, and efficient workflows, we support investigators in advancing nucleic acid–based therapeutics with speed, precision, and flexibility.
