AI-powered behavior analysis with LabGym: 2026 Symposium and Tutorial
Learn how to use LabGym, an AI-based software suite for automated video analysis and quantification of animal behavior.
LabGym is a free software suite for automated video analysis and quantification of animal behavior. It has now been downloaded over 73,000 times from GitHub. The 2024 and 2025 Symposia each attracted over 150 registrants from 50 institutions across 5 and 11 countries, respectively.
The 2026 symposium will be held virtually via Zoom and will feature two sessions:
Schedule:
Symposium session (9:00–11:00 a.m. EST):
- An introduction to LabGym
- Presentations from researchers showcasing diverse applications of LabGym across a wide range of species, including mice, rats, planarians, macaques and lions
- Shorter presentations highlighting new features in LabGym
Tutorial Session (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST):
- A step-by-step introduction to LabGym's core functions to help new users begin using LabGym
- Hands-on demonstrations using example videos and datasets

Who Should Attend
This symposium is open to anyone interested in AI-assisted behavioral analysis, including researchers, including faculty, postdocs, students, technicians, veterinarians, zookeepers, wildlife biologists, and members of the general public. No prior experience with automated behavioral analysis is required, and programming knowledge is not necessary to use LabGym.
