Clemens Cabernard, Ph.D.
Professor, Department of Biology
University of Washington
Clemens Cabernard is a professor in the department of biology at the University of Washington in Seattle. Cabernard was born and raised in Switzerland where he obtained both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in molecular and developmental biology, from the University of Basel. During his time as a postdoc at the University of Oregon, he learned to appreciate the beauty and intricacies of asymmetric cell division. In 2011, he started an independent research lab at the Biozentrum at University of Basel and moved back to the Pacific Northwest in 2016, where his current lab is studying asymmetric cell division (ACD), a process that generates cellular diversity.
