The Innovation Partnership embodies collaboration between science and business. Created by U-M donors, the Partnership marshalls funds and "real world" business support to shepherd LSI science on the journey from lab bench to patient bedside.
- Dr. Jason Gestwicki's Innovation Partnership project focuses on building molecules that may one day haten the diagnoses of Alzheimer's and stop the protein misfolding that causes this and other neurodegenerative diseases. By supporting Gestwicki and his team, you can help accelerate this breakthrough therapy so that it helps patients sooner.
- Effective science doesn't end at the lab bench - to have an impact, new discoveries have to be moved into the marketplace. Aware of the challenges faced by scientists trying to commercialize their innovations, Paul and Susan Meister helped launch the LSI Innovation Partnership to fund these efforts. By supporting the Partnership you can help LSI scientists translate their best research into breakthrough drugs and therapies.
- A special group of LSI donors have recognized that the best memorial to a loved one can be the hope for others. A series of recent memorial gifts to the LSI Innovation Partnership now supports Dr. David Ginsburg's research into molecules that stop the spread of Strep A without antibiotics - a new front in the fight against drug-resistant bacteria. By making a gift that honors someone close to you, you, too, can advance LSI's research and create hope.
