Send to friendLSI Faculty member Yukiko Yamashita receives WICB Career Recognition Award from the American Society for Cell Biology
LSI Research Assistant Professor Yukiko Yamashita is the recipient of the 2009 Women in Cell Biology's (WICB) Career Recognition Award for junior faculty. The WICB Committee of the American Society for Cell Biology recognizes outstanding achievements in cell biology by presenting two Career Recognition Awards at the ASCB Annual Meeting. The Junior Award is given to a woman in an early stage of her career who is making exceptional scientific contributions to cell biology and exhibits the potential for continuing a high level of scientific endeavor and leadership . Yamashita, an assistant professor in U-M's Medical School's Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, is a member of the U-M Center for Stem Cell Biology.
