Our lab studies the genetic basis of human traits and diseases. We are interested in basic genetic mechanisms and those that are related to human health and diseases. We use molecular and computational methods to study cellular processes such as regulation of gene expression and stress response in normal and diseased cells.

Vivian Cheung investigates human genetics of complex phenotypes and gene regulation. Her research focuses on using genetic data to tailor treatments to individual patients, who can often react very differently to therapies like ionizing radiation. She is also a pediatrician.
