As a post-doctoral researcher in the lab of Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator Gerald Crabtree at Stanford University, Dr. Gestwicki conducted research that has impacted both the scientific community and general public. His most important contribution has been the development of a molecule that can block proteins which build up in neurons in the brain, causing diseases such as Alzheimer's.
