Center for Structural Biology
Collaboratory for X-ray Crystallography, Crystallization and Protein Engineering
The Center for Structural Biology (CSB) provides a comprehensive structural biology capability to researchers at the University of Michigan. The Center includes
- X-ray Facility to determine crystal structures of biological molecules
- High-Throughput Protein Laboratory for protein engineering
- Crystallization Screening Laboratory
Staff scientists in the Center collaborate or consult with researchers who use the Center. The Center has a programmatic collaboration with the Center for Chemical Genomics (CCG) in which structures can be determined of target proteins in complex with compounds identified in high-throughput screens in the CCG. Leadership of the Center includes Dr. Janet Smith, Director, Dr. Jeanne Stuckey, Managing Director, and Dr. Clay Brown, Scientific Director of the High-Throughput Protein Lab.
