Maybridge Collection Arrives!

July 24, 2006

Dr. David Sherman, Director CCG and Dr. Rick Neubig, Associate Director CCG have been pursuing ways to increase the number and diversity of the compounds in the CCG chemical library. As part of the collaboration with Fisher Scientific, Dr. Alan Whittle, Director of Chemistry at Maybridge in the UK enthusiastically agreed to provide his assistance in smoothing the way for the donation of the Maybridge HitFinder library (16,000 compounds) to the CCG collection. The compounds arrived in mid-July and have already been plated, replicated and multiplexed. This brings the total number of compounds in the CCG library to 56,000 plus an additional 1,500 natural product extracts provided from the Sherman lab. A small portion of the stacks of plates containing our chemical inventory is pictured here. Each plate contains 384 wells with just microliters of compound in DMSO solution for use in the assays run in the High Throughput Screening facility.
