The Life Sciences Institute at the
University of Michigan is home to some of the world’s most outstanding scientists working at the cutting edge of scientific research. For Faculty Positions
The University of Michigan is a leader in the biomedical sciences, with world-class researchers and faculty members from across campus comprising a formidable team. The Life Sciences Institute takes pride in being an integral member of this team, helping to lead the way in the emerging area of Cryo-Electron Microscopy.
With state of the art tools and senior faculty already in place, the LSI is looking for junior faculty to join our teams in these areas.
The LSI uses a targeted recruitment strategy for potential faculty who will complement and enhance the overall research direction of its existing faculty. Recruitment is in partnership with other University schools and colleges as well as programs such as the Biological Sciences Scholars Program (BSSP).
The BSSP seeks to recruit tenure-track junior faculty at the level of Assistant Professor with outstanding track records of research accomplishment in the biological sciences, and extraordinary promise. Prospective faculty may be recruited by the LSI for a possible joint appointment with a tenure-granting partner department.

For Undergraduate Research Positions
Undergraduate students are encouraged to contact the
Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program for potential positions at the LSI. UROP creates partnerships between first and second year students and U-M faculty.
The LSI sponsors a summer internship program through a partnership with the
Perrigo Company of Allegan, MI. The
Perrigo Undergraduate Fellowship allows highly qualified undergraduates to spend the summer working in a laboratory in the LSI for hands-on experience with our world-class faculty.
